Bak Kut Teh @ Restoran Tong Skudai, Johor Baru

My colleague took me to a shop called “Restoran Tong“, near Skudaiville Apartments, the is address is No.41, Jalan Hang Lekir 10, Taman Skudai Baru, Skudai, Johor. It's my second trip here, the food is great, even a lot of Singaporean people loves to frequent it.

The soup is plain looking but tasty, the pork rib well cooked to the right tenderness, it is different from Klang Bak Kut Teh. The way of cooking here is of Teochew style where Klang is of Hokkien. And the soup is herbal based comparing to Singapore’s where it’s of pepper.
The second dish is also their popular steam kampong chicken. Again, the chicken meat is cooked to perfection, juicy, a little bit chewy and nice.
We had a plate of steam cabbage, very plain way of cooking but lovely.

Breakfast @ Ayer Keroh R&R (South) Plus Highway

Left Kuala Lumpur at 6.00am for Johor Baru, it was a smooth drive and stopped at Ayer Keroh R&R for a light breakfast. Two half boiled eggs and a glass of barley.
This stall in this R&R is very popular for their eggs and toated bread. There is this Chinese aunty always there at the stall to serve you whenever you are there.
Soya sauce & pepper for the eggs.
The sun started to rise as the journey continues towards Johor Baru.
