Setapak here we come…
This is my first experience eating Melaka satay celup but not in Melaka, I ate it in Setapak. I have read and heard a lot about this satay celup and have always wanted to try it. Here was I in Setapak with my wife and Junior for the first experience before we venture into the true one in Melaka.
The Melaka Satay Lok Lok was seemed to be patronized by mostly students of Tunku Abdul Rahman College.
The only thing good about this place is that the satays are kept in proper refrigerators and it is hygienic.
The pot of boiling peanut sauce for you to dip, cook and eat the satays at one go. It’s some kind of Penang Lok Lok, but the Malaccan one is of boiling sauce instead of boiling water. In a way smarter than Penang people.
There are a lot of varieties here but it would be lovely to have better sea foods like prawns, squids etc etc etc, we could only find processed fish balls, fish cake, crab sticks, sausages, jelly fish, cockles ……..
It’s a buffet system, eat as much as you can but no wastage, RM10.00 per 100 gram will be levied for any wastage found. Enjoy your ice cream.......
The pricing is fixed as RM16.80 per adult and RM10.80 for child including ice creams, fried rice, salad but drinks are billed separately.

wow, quite reasonable, remember the alst round, we, 5 adults and 2 kids ate lok lok for almost 80rm beside the road!!!!some more only half full lol
Awesome!!!! I've tried it, their food tasted heavenly, especially their satay sauce... Unlike those i tried at Melaka, which is more like red peanut boiled water, instead of satay sauce... Definitely worth dining at... I'll definitely give a "good hand thumb" for their job done XD
i'm have been there too, they serve prawn, sqiud, jelly fish, fish, beef, chicken, and a lot more choices. The price is reasonable too. Definitely worth to dine in...
i went there b4 too^^ , the price for buffet was resonable... somemore i heard a secret from the boss, the boss said that their satay sauce was TOTALLY DIFFERENT as at melaka's cause they use clean unused sauce to serve.. But at Melaka's SATAY CELUP was RECYCLe the sauce again n again n again, like normal clear soup base,when u finish the whole meal, the soup was so nice cause theres chicken,seafoods,lamb beef and other meat juice inside the one pot~ thats y the melaka one was so tasty^^
Thought wanted to go experience for the satay celup in KL when I saw advertisement in a magazine. I can said that this is the worst experience of satay celup I have ever eaten.It's unhygienic, I saw 2 crockroches on the foods and while I am eating I killed more than 2 small crockroches on our dining table. It make me feel so bad on that night.
Is it halal？ and are they open today - public holiday?
