Genuine Malay food @ Restoran Haslam, Kuala Lumpur

He started off working as a bus conductor then turned an actor, a film director, a film producer and also a restaurateur, what an achievement by this man Dato’ Yusof Haslam. Here we are, at his restaurant for genuine Malay food located at Jalan Pahang (btw that’s also his birth place).

There is a wide range of choices of yummy foods at the servery counter.
At the wall of the air conditioned space. Four of us paid a visit to Restoran Haslam and every one of us chose differently for our “nasi campur” mixed rice.

Goreng Ayam Kampung (fried chicken) with ikan billis (anchovies) & veggies - Choice No.1

Sambal petai with prawns and Ikan Cermin as Choice No.2

A steamed kembong fish with lovely sauce.

Choice No 3 - Sambal Petai with fried taugeh and Ulam.

Choice No. 4 - Sambal Petai with prawn, salted egg & veggie.

A colourful glass of iced sirup drink.
It looks like sambal petai with prawns is the hot favourite for most of us. What about you?

A natural progression for film stars. Leveraging their star appeal. I am glad the food is genuine.
